Privacy Policy

This site (saadjawaid.com) and its blog (saadjawaid.com/blog) are run by Saad Jawaid, a web developer based in Pakistan. This page explains what data the site handles, which tools are used, and what you can ask me to do with your data.

What I collect

Messages you send me. If you email me or use the contact form, I receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, WhatsApp number, website and message. The form sends them to my email inbox and they are not stored in a database on the site. I use them only to reply to you and to discuss work you ask about.

Website speed test. If you use the speed test on the homepage, the web address you type is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights service to run the test. I do not store it.

Blog comments. If comments are switched on for a post, the blog stores the name, email address and comment you submit, so the comment can be shown and moderated.

Server logs. My hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used for security and keeping the site running.

Analytics tools on the main site

The main site (saadjawaid.com) uses three tools to understand how visitors use it and to improve it:

• Google Tag Manager, which loads the other tags on the site.
• Google Analytics 4, which reports anonymous usage such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and how visitors arrived.
• Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors interact with pages, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and produces heatmaps and session replays. Clarity masks sensitive text you type into forms.

I do not use these tools for advertising and I do not sell the data. Google and Microsoft process it on my behalf under their own privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. Your data may be processed on servers outside your country.

The blog (saadjawaid.com/blog) does not currently load these tools.

Cookies and local storage

These tools set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser, for example _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics) and _clck and _clsk (Microsoft Clarity). They are used to tell visitors and visits apart and to measure site use.

The blog saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser (local storage key sj-theme). It stays on your device and is not sent to me. WordPress sets cookies only for logged-in administrators and for visitors who leave a comment.

The analytics tools stay off until you accept in the cookie banner. If you reject, they do not run. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. The site works normally without them.

You can also ask me to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email me at info@saadjawaid.com and I will respond within a reasonable time.

Sharing

I do not sell your data. It is shared only with the services needed to run the site (my web host, Google and Microsoft as described above) and where the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Emails and enquiries are kept as long as needed to deal with your request and any resulting work, then deleted. Analytics data is kept for the retention periods set in my Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity accounts. Server logs are kept for the period set by my host.

Changes

I may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
